- Ensure we meet and exceed all local, provincial and federal regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Adequately provide the necessary resources to reach our targets, including staff training and creating an environment that encourages sustainability.
- Establish and maintain an Environmental Committee to implement this policy.
- Communicate openly about our policy to our customers and other stakeholders.
- Pursue a waste management program ensuring waste produced is minimized, increasing the amount of recycled matter and reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.
- Recommend and implement solutions for our customers and internal use that focus on efficiency wherever possible
- Reduce energy and resource consumption
- Design energy and resource efficiency into new buildings and services.
- Regularly review and set objectives and targets in accordance with this policy and make the necessary changes required for continual improvement.
- Communicate the policy and these objectives to our employees, contractors, vendors, suppliers and the public in order to enhance the awareness of these groups to our commitment to responsible environmental management.
Responsibilities
