I spent the last two days sailing between Halifax and Cape Breton (Nova Scotia). This is around 200 nautical miles and took us approximately 29 hours. This was my first time blue water sailing and was a great experience.

Well, around 1:00am on Monday morning we had a general power failure on the boat. It turns out that some old wiring had finally given up the ghost. This was a definite issue since we were now sailing in the pitch dark, with no navigational lights, no chart plotter or GPS and no good way to know where we were going.
