Andrew Field has over 14 years experience, and holds degrees from both UNB-Fredericton and NBCC-Moncton.  He’s got a pedigree of certificates and awards much longer than the average IT guy, stretching back over ten years.  Software development is his passion and he prides himself on adding real value to all stages of the development life cycle.  He focuses on the analysis, design, development, and implementation of robust information systems.  He is the most adept juggler we have on our team.  Others see him prioritizing and multi-tasking with seemingly effortless aplomb, but the truth is that he only makes it “look” easy.  Developing systems architecture and crafting multi-tier solutions to complex business problems is not for the faint of heart (or mind), which is why Bulletproof Solutions is so lucky to have a guy like Andrew on the team.

Andrew Jefferies

Andrew Jefferies is our Information Security Officer for Bulletproof Solutions, which as the name implies, is a pretty important hat to wear.  He is ultimately accountable and responsible for the security management of all internal and hosted systems as well as consultation with client systems.  One of his big things is penetration testing, which is the key determinant in the process of making our clients’ assets, well, bulletproof.  He is a founding partner in Bulletproof and participates extensively in the company’s business development activities.  Andrew has strong analytical and “big picture” skills.  His industry experience includes energy, financial, consumer, government, military and education.  He went to school in New Brunswick and Toronto.

Scott Olsen

Scott’s background includes a long history in computer hardware and operating systems, wireless networks, and database servers. In addition to designing, implementing, and maintaining network and database systems, he has also developed numerous back-end solutions for multiple projects.  This utilizes numerous development languages and tools, and Scott is a genius when it comes to plugging in the right tool to solve the problem.  His primary interests are in the fields of wireless communications, database administration, and software development.  In his past, Scott has also taught and provided support on technology and computer concepts from general theory to technical details.  He studied in Fredericton.

Perry Reagon is a man on a mission.  And when a deadline is looming, his attention to detail allows him to rise above the fray and manage multiple projects simultaneously.  For over 15 years, and stretching back to his university days in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, he has demonstrated his in-depth knowledge of network design and development with an outstanding ability to determine and provide end-user needs assessment and implementation.  Simply put, he is a “get stuff done guy,” and he has earned the respect of his coworkers through his resolve and his ability to create seamless solutions to often difficult problems.  In this business, nothing is more important than the timely completion of all projects, and Perry is a true “service champion.”

Tom Thomson

Tom Thomson has been working in the IT Industry since 1995, earning a litany of diplomas and certifications along the way.  And in that time, Tom has developed a diverse resume which includes network and security infrastructure design and support, VPN and Voice over IP configuration and integration, client-server administration, multi-vendor hardware support and application programming.  Tom holds a Bachelor of Computer Science, and is a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) as well as a Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP).  Clearly, this makes him a valuable team member when it comes to quickly assessing networking dynamics and offering a solution that works in the client’s best interest while drawing from all the available technology.  Tom is also a member of the Canadian Information Processing Society.

Paul Varenholt
Unified Communications Specialist

Unified Communications is a huge part of what we do at Bulletproof Solutions, and Paul Varenholt is as seasoned and experienced as they come in this arena.  A specialist and project manager who has worked in the Information Technology industry since 1992, he has actually studied in the United States and also holds a degree from Saint Francis Xavier in Nova Scotia, where he studied computer science and psychology. He is particularly adept with Cisco’s UC product line (itself a big part of the BSI equation).  Paul has strong management, problem solving and interpersonal skills. His breadth of industry knowledge includes telecommunications, healthcare, government, and energy.

Brent York

Phrases like “quality” and “customer service” aren’t just buzzwords when it comes to Brent York.  He lives, eats and breathes those concepts every waking moment.  Brent has always strived to provide exemplary customer service, while focusing on the quality of the end product. He has worked in the information technology field professionally since 1996 with significant experience in software development, software architecture, systems administration, and security related work.  Brent has a strong background in analysis, architecture, design and implementation of complex software systems on Windows, UNIX, and embedded architectures.  Brent’s roots also run deep when it comes to his communications skills, combined with several years of technical experience which has allowed him to be instrumental in the design and implementation of several large software projects.

Steven Burns
President

Steven Burns is the ring leader of Bulletproof Solutions, and it’s his contagious spirit that sets the tone for the entire company.  Being good is, well, not good enough.  Over the last 20 years of his entrepreneurial career, he has continually raised the bar for innovation and customer service.  He was recently inducted into the Atlantic Business Hall of Fame after being chosen as one of Atlantic Canada’s top 50 CEO’s for five consecutive years, reflecting his in-depth knowledge of all aspects of business.  He is also very active in his community, and served as a Board of Director for the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce.  He also has been actively involved with the Knowledge Industry Task Force (KITF) since 2000 and the Canadian Kidney Foundation in 2003-2004.

Jeffrey Shaw

of Operations

Mr. Shaw oversees the delivery of all Bulletproof Solutions’ consulting and annuity services.  Mr. Shaw has been instrumental in building and defining Bulletproof Solutions Inc. since 2001.  His actions and entrepreneurial drive have resulted in services with a strong reputation for exceeding our clients’ expectations.  Jeff is a Professional Engineer with several key security designations allowing him to maintain a strong technical and engineering role in the day-to-day operations.

Stéphane Godbout

Stéphane Godbout is Vice President of Systems Integration and General Manager of the Moncton region.  Stéphane has more than 16 years of experience in technical, application development, project management and global management in the IT Sector.  He also brings law enforcement knowledge to the organization.  Prior to Bulletproof, for 6 years Stéphane was the Director of Business Systems with Major Drilling, therein responsible for all of its global IT operations including two data centers, application development, technical architecture, infrastructure, IT strategic planning as well as communications.
